God’s Bounty
When was the last time
You experienced a summer day,
Took in the beauty
As you went out to play?
Did you sit back and listen
To the sound of nature's songs,
The birds all chirping
And the bees buzzing along?
Did you see the flowers
Blooming everywhere,
Feel the sunlight streaming
Making shadows here and there?
Did you smell the fragrance
Of a fresh summer rain,
And see the horses gallantly running
Across the open plains?
Did you then marvel
At how it came to be,
God's great bounty
Prepared for you and me?

Sunday Afternoon
I love a Sunday afternoon
When the sun is shining bright;
When the wind is blowing gently
And there's not a cloud in sight.
It's on a Sunday afternoon
That my thoughts begin to roam;
Then I think of all the wonder
In this world we call our home.
There's the meadow gently swaying
With its flowers all in store;
See the ocean waves a rolling
Bringing sand upon the shore.
Hear the birds so joyfully chirping
As their food the mammas bring;
Listen as the locust whisper
With a noisy voice they sing
As the world continues turning
Month of May makes way for June;
I'll keep working every weekday
Just for Sunday afternoon.
